I can help not-for-profits and community-based organizations improve their operations, communications, marketing, and fundraising.

As an executive director, communications officer, and university administrator, much of my work has focused on building successful relationships with board members, partners, volunteers, and donors. I can help you build good working relationships with your volunteer boards, assure proper governance and compliance, plan successful print and digital communications, organize events, develop grant proposals, and manage membership and fundraising appeals. My experience ranges from large, complex organizations to small not-for-profit organizations.

In addition to my professional experience, I volunteer at the Ulster County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (UCSPCA), where my wife is a board member. I also have contributed to public and community-based organizations in Brooklyn, New York, including serving on Community Board 10 and on the board the Alliance of Bay Ridge Block Associations. A historian by training, I have taught history, urban studies, and general education courses at Columbia University, Barnard College, the New School, and New York University.
